Ring Size Guide

Your ring size is the circumference of your finger, measured in millimetres. Find that measurement in the chart below, or match an existing ring by its inside diameter.

Measure with string or paper

  1. Cut a strip of paper about 5 mm wide, or use a length of string.
  2. Wrap it around the base of the finger the ring will sit on. Snug, not tight — it needs to pass back over the knuckle.
  3. Mark where the strip overlaps, then lay it flat against a ruler.
  4. That length in millimetres is your circumference. Find it in the chart.

Measure a ring you already own

  1. Choose a ring that fits the same finger.
  2. Measure straight across the inside, edge to edge, in millimetres.
  3. That is the inside diameter. Find it in the chart.

Getting it right

  • Measure at the end of the day. Fingers are at their largest then, and smallest first thing in the morning.
  • Don't measure cold. Cold fingers can read a full size smaller than they really are.
  • Wide bands fit tighter. For a band over about 6 mm, consider going up a quarter size.
  • It has to clear the knuckle. If the knuckle is much larger than the base of the finger, size for the knuckle.
